BIO:ON Insight #3 · Jun 15, 2026
One company bought it. Some proved it. Two rivals built it together.
GSK pays $10.6B for Nuvalent's lung cancer pipeline, Korean biotechs bring muscle- and heart-sparing obesity data to ADA, and Gilead and Merck's once-weekly HIV pill wins two Phase 3 trials. Buy, prove or partner?
What I learned this week
Writing this issue, what stuck with me is that innovation rarely finishes on its own. Before one good drug reaches patients, someone has to fund it, someone has to generate the data, and someone has to decide to combine their molecule with a rival's. Next time a big deal hits the news, before looking at the price, ask "which road did this company choose?" The same number will read very differently. See you next issue. 🙏
